Tashi town , Taiwan



大溪 Tashi, the second biggest town in 桃園Taoyuan, the measure of its area is almost 105 km2, and there're almost 8,5000 residents in the town.

There's a river cross Tashi, and because of it, Tashi was flourishing before. However, after people found it not convenient at all, it became not flourishing as before.

However, Tashi was been governed by the Chin Dynasty, Japan, and Taiwan. After being governed by this three, Tashi own an abounding history, culture, and food.

For example, Tashi Old Street,

The buildings at Tashi Old Street was built when Chin Dynasty, but the buildings you can see now is rebuilt by the residents of Tashi town.

Another example, Wu-De temple,


Wu-De temple had been built since 1930 when Japanese governed Taiwan, and finished at the year of 1935. Wu-De temple is bulit by the style of traditional of Japan. Now, it becomes a place to let people practice kendo, let children to play with, and even a place to oweto a famous singer--"鳳飛飛".

And they also famous with pressed tofu, furze, fermented bean curd....
